Our Mission

The closeness of the shared life in this set apart place shall be an example to guests and staff of what it means to be the body of Christ.

The quiet beauty of this natural place shall provide an opportunity for guests and staff to know the joy of being at home in Christ and sense the reality of God.

The careful stewardship of this interdependent place shall challenge guests and staff to address their responsibility for the human and natural world in which God has placed them.

Koinonia is centrally located in Washington State, just off I-90, 25 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass and 6 miles west of Cle Elum. Take exit 78 (Golf Course Road), turn South across the railroad tracks, go up the hill and take the first right. The entrance road to Koinonia starts at the first bend in the road. Watch for Koinonia signs. Travel time to Seattle is about two hours.

Some things to do. . .

Koinonia is located on 120 forested acres, with large meadow areas and a small man made lake which provides unlimited possibilities for nature study and year-round outdoor recreational activities. Summer outdoor activities include: baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, hiking, etc. In the winter Koinonia is blessed with frequent snowfalls which enable campers to enjoy the winter sports of sledding and cross country skiing. This popular retreat center is a year-round facility to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

What's for dinner?

The staff at Koinonia work hard to make sure every person who stays with us gets good food each and every meal. Menus are planned in advance with the needs of the group and individuals in mind.

Accommodations

The facilities include a lodge for meetings, dining, singing, and recreation. At one end is a large, stone fireplace and the other end contains the kitchen, restrooms, and additional meeting room. East of the lodge there are four separate sleeping cabins, each accommodating 16 persons on built-in bunk beds with a nearby (and recently remodeled) central restroom and shower facility.

To the West of the lodge lie the Retreat Center and the Leadership Cabin. The Leadership Cabin has 3 bedrooms downstairs and a small dorm upstairs. The Retreat Center sleeps 31 people, mostly in bunkbeds. It has a kitchen, restrooms (with showers), and a central meeting room with a fireplace.

There are also camp sites available for tenting and R.V. use.
